Experiences as an Entrepreneur with Asperger's

Occasionally I have something on my mind that prompts me to speak out. Below are a collection of some of my thoughts through the years; topics vary widely of course - that's just how my brain works. Some of the topics below are indeed very personal to me, perhaps even very raw in nature - and I hope those reading won't hold that against me or be offended by my candid remarks. I genuinely believe in speaking out about the topics we deal with, the situations we experience, and the way we feel about the world we live in. To me, there is nothing more authentic than being yourself - and staying true to that, always. I hope you enjoy both my Professional and Personal Articles.

The nightmare of being ‘normal’ in disguise

John C. Derrick July 13 2014 Comments

I often write here because I hope to inspire or help those who I can’t touch in person, but would like to think I can in virtual space. And while I often think that staying positive will always help the most, I’ll be the first to admit that…

Some Background – My Story of AS  Hi, I’m John and I’m an Aspie. Yes,  that means I have Aspergers Syndrome, and Yes, that means I’m mildly autistic. And after years of silence, I’m finally going to start writing more about it. Herein…

John C. Derrick July 03 2014 Comments

If you’ve read either of my first two articles on this topic, then by now you likely know all too well how often discussion of this subject is ‘tucked’ under the proverbial rug in modern society. There is definitely still a stigma and…

Depression kills you on the inside

John C. Derrick February 16 2014 Comments

Part II – When organ function goes wrong. Today, I wanted to pick back up on the Depression article I began last May; and in the process revisit how it has affected my own life, in addition to my recent experiences and thoughts regarding…

Taking Action – feel the fear and just do it already

John C. Derrick January 26 2014 Comments

If you’re like me, or quite frankly like most other people, then you probably can vouch for the fact that you talk a lot about all the things you’d like to do – by the end of the day, tomorrow, next week, next month, or in the years to come…
