Welcome to the official website of John Derrick

Hi, I'm John Derrick. This website is my slice of the web... my web side.

I follow my bliss. I'm a Web Developer and Entrepreneur. I love the great outdoors - hiking, photography, tropical landscaping, etc. I love the tropics and good company to enjoy it with. I'm an avid fan of the Hawaiian Islands and I try to visit annually if I can.

I am extremely interested in psychology and love learning just about anything related to the human mind. To say I'm inquisitive would be an understatement, I have a thirst for knowledge and constantly seek out new information on just about anything that interests me. I'm fascinated by puzzles and abstract concepts... yes, I'm weird like that.

My busy mind also keeps me busy developing new projects - in the yard or online. I've spent most of the last decade of my life building my businesses into something I am very proud of. I've worked hard, and I've been very fortunate to have the success I've had. In the nine years I've run my business, I've never had a year that ended in the red - I have always ended in the black. And given the recession as of late, I'm very pleased with that fact. To date, 2009, was actually my best year on the books yet.

John Derrick Web Portfolio

Below are the web sites I directly oversee and/or manage. You can also view a PDF Portfolio.

DualBootPRO.org - DualBootPRO, founded in 2006, is a software application that can be used to create unlimited boot options from Windows 7, Vista, or even Windows XP.

PROnetworks.org - PROnetworks, founded in 2001, is a news and technology enthusiast site that focuses on support for Microsoft Windows Operating System(s).

Hawaii-Guide.com - Hawaii-Guide, founded in 2002, offers hundreds of articles on the best sights in Hawai`i, along with travel articles, photos, maps, tips, and expert advice on planning a trip to the islands.

HawaiianPhotos.org - HawaiianPhotos, founded in 2010, allows you to take a unique virtual journey around the Hawaiian Islands to see the most prominent sights along the way. Alongside each photograph is a map of the island with a pin showing exactly where you are. Mile markers are also included with each image. You can easily navigate to the next or previous photo with the click of a button, or if you like, zoom out to see the entire island and start your journey from an alternate location.

HardyTropicals.org - Hardy Tropicals, founded in 2010, will feature an extensive cold hardy tropical plant database that can serve the needs of countless tropical gardening enthusiasts who are looking to push their USDA zone limits by growing tropicals in northern locations.

HawaiianStylePhotos.com - Hawaiian Style Photos, founded in 2002, originally was dedicated to only Maui Photography but was later expanded to include the islands of Kaua`i and the Big Island of Hawai`i as well. Eventually I hope to also include O`ahu to the gallery.
